Outdoor Education

YMCA Camp Oakes is proud to partner with the Long Beach Unified School District. As part of the LBUSD's curriculum, all fifth-grade students will have an opportunity to participate in a week of outdoor education at Camp Oakes in Big Bear City, California, beginning in the fall of 2023. These field trips will continue a tradition that began in the district in April of 1948 with students attending Camp Hi-Hill each year.
