Within their delegations,Y&G participants create bills which are submitted to the Model Legislature, the primary conference occurring in February where over 3,500 Y&G delegates from across the state take over the capital in Sacramento to present their bills.

Weekly Meetings: Delegates meet once a week to discuss issues facing California, as well as ways to implement their solutions through the legislative and judicial processes. Delegates will write and debate bills, prepare briefs, practice public speaking, and make new friends.

Counselor in Training

CITs will learn leadership skills and experience what it really takes to be a counselor by shadowing and assisting camp counselors in daily activities during Summer Camp. For each week of camp, CITs are assigned to help lead elementary-aged groups in games and activities under the supervision of a Unit Lead Counselor. Teens must attend orientation each Monday of their camp week from 8:30-9am.

This is a great way for Teens to prepare for a future job in camp, child care, teaching, and beyond. CITs will learn valuable work and life skills including: leadership, patience, time management, self-discipline, communication, independence, and how to be a positive role model. The CIT program is overseen by the Teen/Sports Coordinator Rafi Howard as well as camp staff. To register for the CIT program click here!
