Levels of Instruction
Skips: (Ages 6 months to 3 years of age)
A water adjustment class for parents and their young children.
Pike: (Ages 3 to 5 years of age)
Sets the stage for the water experience and begins to learn the basics of side breathing, floats, and the front and back crawl.
Eel: (Ages 3 to 5 years of age)
For children without fear of putting their faces in the water and can propel themselves five feet unassisted.
Ray: (Ages 3 to 5 years of age)
This class emphasizes stroke development for children able to propel themselves up to ten feet unassisted.
Polliwog: (Ages 6 to 12 years of age)
Older beginners will gain confidence in the water and begin to learn the basics of side breathing, floats, and the front and back crawl.
Guppy: (Ages 6 to 12 years of age)
Advanced beginners will practice front and back crawl, refine rotary breathing, and be introduced to breaststroke.
Minnow: (Ages 6 to 12 years of age)
Intermediate swimmers will refine strokes and work on endurance.
Fish Fly: (Ages 6 to 13 years of age)
Advanced Intermediate swimmers work on stroke technique, are introduced to butterfly, and improves endurance.
Shark: (Ages 6 to 14 years of age)
Advanced swimmers refine their swimming skills while exploring competitive skills such as dives and relays.
Teen/Adult: (Ages 13 years and up)
Beginner: Little or no water experience. Learns floating (back and front), introduction of freestyle and elementary backstroke.
Intermediate: Refines freestyle and elementary backstroke. Learns sidestroke, breaststroke and deep-water swimming.
