Group Fitness Class Descriptions
ZUMBA
A fusion of Latin/International music and dance themes, creating a dynamic, exciting and effective class. This fun Latin inspired dance program includes merengue, salsa, cha cha, cumbia, calypso and rock n'roll. Zumba is guaranteed to provide the participant with a safe and effective total body workout. This class is for members only.
AQUA ZUMBA
Aqua Zumba uses the same dance moves as Zumba basic with the added resistance of the water to give you more of a workout. IT'S A PARTY IN THE POOL!
ZUMBA GOLD
Zumba GOLD is an innovative, fun and exciting program. It was designed for the active older adult, the true beginner, and/or people who are not used to exercising, or those who may be limited physically. Zumba Gold is done at a lower intensity, not as fast, but it certainly is as fun. The same great Latin styles of music and dance are used. Created to emphasize the basics, this explosive program is so easy to follow that everyone can do it. Zumba GOLD creates a party atmosphere. It is fun, different, easy and effective. It's great for the mind, body and soul. Exercise attire is recommended.
ZUMBA KIDS
For children 3 years and older. Open the world of Latin & international rhythms to your children. Kids are fast learners and they love to Zumba! Kids Zumba is based on the same principles as the adult Zumba classes. We begin with a fun warm-up to get their bodies moving, then we move from song to song with fun, kid friendly routines. After the class we cool down with lots of stretching. Dress children in light comfortable clothing. $5 for non-members.
FAMILY YOGA (All Levels)
A chance for the whole family to participate in an exercise activity. Children 8 Years and older, with the ability to maintain a level of focus, are welcome. Instructor approval required for 7 years and younger.
GENTLE YOGA (Adults Only)
Move fluidly through postures as the flow of your breath deepens your mind/body connection. The movements combine stretching and strengthening to increase flexability and relax your body. You'll leave feeling refreshed and invigorated.
STEP AEROBICS
A high intensity class that burns calories without a great deal of impact and stress on the joints. Class consists of cardio and total body conditioning.
AQUA FITNESS
Exercise in the water while relieving stress on the joints. Shallow water exercise, no swimming required.
KICK AEROBICS
Kick Aerobics incorporates and combines martial-arts style kicks/punches and other high impact aerobic movementes to create a very energetic class. This is not a contact class.
GUTTS & BUTTS
Tight abs and a sculpted butt are tops on everyone's summer wish list. Let's work together, crunches, squats, bicycles, and more!
CAMP AVY
This class is a muscle specific program. You will lose fat, tone up, increase your overall endurance and strength. We do a warm up followed by cardiovascular endurance training, ab work, toning exercises, and more. We finish with a cool down and stretching.
